Welcome!

Psychotherapy works! And fifty years of research shows that it works -- often better and longer than medication.

You might be initially hesitant to seek out help and support for personal matters, but when you do, you will feel confident that you are taking a courageous first step towards getting to a better place and being a better you.

If you’re interested in becoming a better, happier, more fulfilled you, take the next step. Call or email today.

I recognize that people are extremely different from many different perspectives. They differ in terms of ethnicity, culture, class, gender, religion, and genetic make-up, and, most important, goals. For that reason, I tailor my therapy and counseling to meet the specific needs of my clients. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, addictive or semi-addictive behaviors, depression, procrastination, professional challenges, relationship problems or other types of issues, I will help you understand why you may have these problems, and I will help you figure out how to deal with them more effectively. I provide compassionate, supportive, goal-focused therapy. We will work on understanding and accepting the roots of the problems and on exercises designed to help you do better in the coming week and beyond.

I integrate insights and techniques from brief psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), e.g, REBT, DBT and ACT, existential and humanist therapies, feminist therapy, mindfulness practices, and recent discoveries in neuroscience and neurochemistry.

About Me

I am an expert at helping people change how they think, feel and behave. I help people find ways to motivate themselves to change and ways to stay on track once they begin. My specialty is addictions, but I see clients with many different kinds of problems, for example, relationship problems, depression, anxiety and procrastination. I help people figure out what they want to do and then how to go about doing it. My recent book, Modern Integrative Counseling and Psychotherapy (available on Amazon), outlines techniques to help people feel and do better next week and next year.
